ETTB FEEDS THE STARS
TOUR CATERING COMPANY SUPPORTS NEW BAND AID INITIATIVE
TOUR Blur frontman Damon Albarn (pictured right with Beverly Knight) embodied the communal spirit of Band Aid 20's new recording of 'Do They Know It's Christmas?' when he donned a pink Eat To The Beat apron to help serve tea and coffee to the stars gathered at AIR Studios in November.
Eat To The Beat (ETTB) was asked to supply its services and co-ordinate the catering logistics as well as bring together a number of its suppliers to provide food for the artists, crew and media at the session. The charity single both celebrates the 20th anniversary of Band Aid and raises further funds and awareness for Africa.
More than 40 artists - including the song's writers Bob Geldof and Midge Ure, Chris Martin, Joss Stone, Will Young, Travis, The Darkness, Snow Patrol, Thom Yorke, Dizzee Rascal, Rachel Stevens, Jamelia and Beverley Knight - gathered to re-record the hit single and bring it into the 21st century.
The willingness to support the project was evident as a number of ETTB's suppliers and friends in the industry sponsored the food and drink for the event. These included Hard Rock Cafe, Feng Sushi, Innocent, Red Bull, Penta Water, Millies Cookies, Perk Up Coffee, Funkin Juice, Prt a Manger, The Pieminister, Burts Chips, Honeybuns Cakes, Pavitts Fruit and Veg, Kronenburg 1664, Independent Distillers and Costco.
The food was prepared in the company's new kitchen truck, which was provided for the charity along with all other catering equipment required to feed 250 on the day.
Tony Laurenson, MD of the Global Infusion Group, said: "We are proud to be involved with Band Aid 20, supporting a worthwhile cause with what we do best... food and drink. We have been working with many of these artists on tours and festivals through the course of the year and it's great to be supporting them on this project. Hopefully, our food has helped 'energise' them to a successful end. Buy the single!"
