AUDIO ONE & ALCONS AT NORDIC MUSIC AWARDS
The inaugural Nordic Music Awards event was held recently in Oslo, Norway with rental company Audio One chosen as live audio supplier. The show, which was held at the Oslo Spektrum and broadcast live on Scandinavian television, featured top international artists such as Robbie Williams, Tina Turner, Kylie Minogue, Westlife and Brian McFadden appearing in front of a live audience of 9,000.
The Spektrum is a very wide and steep seated venue, so to have an even SPL coverage is always a real challenge. Audio One rose to the challenge by installing a system consisting of 78 Alcons LR16 line array cabinets, 16 flown LR16B bass cabinets and 12 ground stacked BF362 subs, powered by ALC controller-amplifiers. The two front L-R clusters consisted of 24 LR16 plus eight LR16Bs, with 15 LR16 cabinets flown as side clusters. The large Alcons system was comprised of the inventory of Audio One and fellow Ribbon Network member, Electrosound from Sweden.
Stuart Morch-Kerrison, system engineer for the event, said: "We have been using our Alcons system now for six months on everything from 'balls-to-the-wall' outdoor rock concerts to televised events like the Nordic Music Awards, all with nothing less than great success. The response from the Alcons system was fantastic and we received many positive comments that the sound in the hall was perfect and much better than usual in this venue."
