STAGE ELECTRICS' HONG KONG AFFAIR
The Hong Kong Tourist Board hosted Hong Kong Day in October in London's Leicester Square Ñ an event produced by Innovision with Creative Director Andy McLaughlin. The concept was a scaled-down version of the 'Aqua Spectacular' that features in Hong Kong with water screens, dancing fountains, and lasers all mounted on a Star Events 12m Orbit stage with a central water pool.
Stage Electrics Production Services worked closely with Bob Caple, freelance Production Manager, and LD Steve Hicks to supply lighting, power distribution, and generators together with technical crew and transportation. Stage Electrics carried out a full electrical inspection, test and certification for the event.
The technical specification included a 320KVA Super Silent Twinpack Generator; 18 Martin MAC 600s, 12 MAC 500s, four MAC 550s and various generic lighting and effects, with control by an Avolites Sapphire desk and Avo digital dimmers. Sound was provided by Delta Sound and water effects by Aquatique.
"Providing an outdoor stage in the middle of October was a great challenge, and we were very lucky with the weather, all resulting in a spectacular and successful show!" said Simon Baker, Stage Electrics Project Manager.
