When you need to design a set for a 26-week tour of Russia, with one of the most powerful and emotionally inspiring pianists in the world, the one thing you don't want to worry about is the crucial lighting element letting you down.
It is for this reason that OptiLED, a global leader in the manufacture of LEDs, was brought on-board for the Russian pianist, Ariel. OptiLED is able to provide an all round package, with an installation that not only looks good and creates the mood you are seeking but is also hugely energy efficient, easy to control and simple to install, whilst still being affordable and not driving production costs up beyond a budget.
Through combining its Designer Series and Commercial Series products in one installation, OptiLED was able to provide an inspiring fixture which when illuminated, could match Ariel's intense and powerful performance on the piano.
The Commercial Series allows designers to create wall-washing effects of bold colour across a large area while also being able to focus a high-intensity spot on a subject from a substantial distance - capabilities not previously possible with traditional halogen lighting. They can be plugged into any mains voltage source in the world and are available in a range of standard base fittings, meaning they are as easy to install as a standard light bulb.
Like the Commercial range, the Designer Series is compatible with any voltage worldwide from 6V to 24V and offers intense colours without exuding vast amounts of heat. They are so efficient that it is possible to power 10 or more of these LEDs from one single standard halogen power supply.
The colours and quality of light produced by the units allow the light to blend, shape and fade through the entire colour spectrum, including pastels - effects synonymous with Ariel's performance and musical style.
