Stark @ Alpine Ski World Championships
For the opening ceremony, Buroni frescoed an enormous projection show over the entire arrival zone, right up to the snow on the trails and covering an area in excess of 5,000 square metres. The mountain, the trails and the snow itself became the screen for an intricate pattern of scrolling, image overlapping and lap fade effects accompanied by a synchronised soundtrack. At the heart of the show was an innovative and sophisticated Stark multiple projection system that featured a total of 25 special projectors. This system made it possible to cover the immense white surfaces with animated images bringing the mountain to life with a huge virtual scenographic set. Buroni used Stark's new mobile head projectors to add spectacular effects to the event, using the projectors to project up to a distance of 250 metres and creating a multitude of virtual skiers that moved on the mountain in time with the music. A mixture of alpine images and winter landscapesÊprovided theÊbackdrop for the performance. This complex installation was designed and realised by Stark, the Pesaro, Italy based image projection specialists who provided all projection equipment. |
