Lighting maestros combine on Joss Stone 'Mind, Body, Soul' tour
Robe's ColorWash 1200 AT fixtures made their UK concert debut at Joss Stone's show at London's Brixton Academy at the end of last year, part of her current UK and European "Mind, Body Soul" tour.

The fixtures were supplied to rental company Siyan, the tour's main lighting contractors, by Robe UK, to boost the lighting rig for Stone's acclaimed London performance. Stone's lightshow was designed by Bryan Leitch, and was developed by him and programmer / operator James Thompson who ran the show on tour. The six ColorWash 1200s were all mounted on floor stands for the Brixton gig, used for shooting dramatic low level beams across the stage adding immense depth, and sweeping out into the audience to envelope and involve them in the show.

Adding to this inventory, Siyan were also supplied with eight SGM Giotto 400 CMY moving heads from Lightfactor Sales. Four SGMs were positioned on the rear truss, with another four on two upstage / offstage Manfrotto stands each side of stage - for additional depth and separation. Thompson uses the fixtures as the core of the rig, enthusing, "They are fantastic. They're proving robust and reliable on the road, and the effects you can create with the sheer power and brightness are really excellent".

Other fixtures on the rig include Martin MAC 600s, James Thomas Pixellines and ETC Source Four profiles, with control and dimming by Avolites (Sapphire 2000, ART dimming rack).
