New RAM sound system for Barraca
Barraca, Valencia might well possess the unofficial Guinness record for longevity as a disco venue. It started its life as a music pub evolving into the main meeting point of the 'Ruta del Bacalao' - a kind of initiation trip for dance lovers that run along the Mediterranean coastline towns.

It is one of those places that has evolved in line with the changes disco music has undergone down the years and, as a prominent venue, Barraca organises festivals and disco marathons featuring Europe's best known DJs. To address a promising season, Barraca's management decided to refurbish the sound system in two of the venue's four dancefloors - a main room called 'el Circo' and 'la Tarraza'. RAM Audio's engineering department were called in and designed a completely new sound system based on the AR-215 Line Array, together with the ARS-218 Subs for the main room. Likewise, 'La terraza', arguably the most popular open air dancefloor, received a rig based on the AR-208 Line Array and ARSO-215 Subs. PM-10 high performance cabinets have been used in both areas as cabin reference monitors - four and two units respectively. The complete systems are driven by RAM Audio LMS-244 controllers and powered by RAM's DQL amps. The system made its debut at the 'Les Palmeretes Festival' held in August with a 24 hour non stop event featuring some of Europe's top DJs and performers.
