    Klotz Digital @ Qinhuangdoo Stadium
Klotz Digital Asia Pacific has announced the successful installation of its fibre-optic based VADIS audio/media platform at the Qinhuangdao Olympic Sport Stadium in Qinhuangdao City, China. The 48,000 square metre stadium, which has a seating capacity of 35,000, is a modern stadium for athletics, football and other major functions, and will be one of the venues used for the 2008 Olympics.

Klotz Digital Asia Pacific, through its partner in China for the Public Address (PA) market, Huanan Professional Audio Engineering Ltd, equipped the stadium with VADIS 880 frames which are strategically placed in the east and west sides of the stadium. The frames are used for audio distribution throughout the stadium and are interlinked via fibre-optic cable, which reduces extensive cabling work. The ability to handle signal processing and control of inputs and outputs remotely was the main reason for choosing Klotz's VADIS system. Klotz Digital also provided MADI interfaces to the Central Control Room, which provides a connection to the stadium broadcast system. Two audio mixers (one main and another as back-up) are linked to the VADIS system, which have the ability to automatically activate the back-up audio mixer if the main mixer fails. The VADIS frames are also configured to automatically activate the evacuation system overriding all current programmes.
