CP Electronics has launched a highly flexible presence detector, suitable for use with lighting control systems, that enables users and specifiers to adjust detection patterns to suit the space and area covered, thus reducing the number of sensors required for total coverage. With its adjustable sensor head, the new MWS-3 Multi-Sense is ideal for use in open plan areas, corridors and aisles, where lighting can be dimmed or switched off in relation to occupancy.
For example, when the sensor head is positioned flush in the sensor housing it provides coverage of 8m x 22m, suitable for open plan areas, while angling the head to 80 deg will provide detection coverage of 8m x 30m, making it ideal for corridors and aisles. Furthermore, an integral sensitivity adjustment allows the sensor to be fine tuned to the surrounding environment.
Additional product features include a built-in infrared sensor that allows the user to override the lights to on/off and an integral light sensor, which will keep the lighting switched off if there is sufficient natural light. The MWS-3 Multi Sense has been designed for quick and simple installation with reduced costs, and the detector can be mounted either flush into a ceiling tile or on the surface using the fixing plate supplied.
