    Artistic Licence Colour-Tramp
The entertainment technology and architectural lighting industry has always considered lighting and video to be separate disciplines. To display video, a video wall is used; to generate mood and effect, lights are used. The distinction has lead to a healthy rivalry between the 'Vidiots' and the 'Lamp Tramps'.

Artistic Licence is at the leading edge of a new convergence between these old rivals and challenging the basic premise that they are separate disciplines. The company believes that lighting and video are simply different facets of the same strategy. Artistic Licence has launched a number of products aimed at cementing the relationship between video and lighting.

The latest release of Colour-Tramp supports live video from multiple sources. Colour-Tramp is designed to control large arrays of colour mixing lights. The addition of video allows the designer to treat a video source as a conceptual colour. Video is then mixed with lighting to dramatic effect. The new version also allows the import of video from AVI sources. A large library of organic motion videos is included with the system, allowing designers to quickly generate anything from subtle mood changes to dynamic visual effects.
