Phaos uses the new LED coloured light source. Each luminaire incorporates all three standard LED colours (blue, red and green) - mixing these three in different percentages gives a choice of over one million colours.
The Phaos range includes four distinct products - none of these are task lights, their function is to highlight and create their own effects: Phaos Light Tiles provide flat squares of colour typically used to underlight glass objects although they can also be used as wall mounted fittings; Phaos Xeno uses the contemporary Xeno spotlight (designed by Jean-Michel Wilmotte) to cast focused light onto individual objects of vertical surfaces; Phaos Light Tube projects light as a continuous flow onto walls or can be used in concealed trough details to colour wash a ceilings; Phaos Line luminaire is surface mounted or recessed into the ground to provide a colour changing navigation guide.
All provide the ability to give dynamism and individual interest as control systems are used to change the colours of the LEDs. They can be controlled in groups or individually, providing a constantly changing light colour attracting the eye with far more urgency than a static display. Controls can run through pre-set programmes or be lined to movement sensors that will trigger a programme when someone approaches a display.
