Tridonic.atco - Chip on Board (cob)
LED-based light sources from Tridonic.Atco offer compact, energy-efficient lighting solutions for a wide range of applications, by using single coloured LEDs or combinations of different coloured LEDs under a single lens to mix the colours.
A recent innovation from Tridonic.Atco is the COB (chip on board), where the raw chip is mounted on a printed circuit board made of special materials, using connections made from gold wire. This arrangement provides greatly improved heat dissipation, leading to longer life, higher luminous efficacy and more light from fewer LEDs.
The company's powerLED range is particularly suitable for architectural lighting applications - for accentuating existing structures or for use as a design element or for wayfinding. This light strip system includes compact LED light modules measuring just 12mm wide by 67mm or 100mm long. These are combined with connecting elements so that modules can be arranged into different configurations to suit a wide variety of requirements.
Also available is the spaceLED range, which enables connections to be made without tools, leading to faster installation. The system is based on a length of cable with contact points at regular intervals. These allow LED modules to inserted directly into the cable, or by using the contact points for creating feeders and branches.
