Leading LED designer and manufacturer Forge Europa has recently introduced a new range of high performance red, green and blue LEDs providing full colour capability in a single device. The rugged 7.6mm unit is part of the company's extensive QuadriLED range and the 5mm domed lens provides viewing characteristics of 50°, ensuring that the product is suitable for a very wide range of display applications requiring dramatic lighting effects.
The RGB QuadriLED incorporates 3 independently addressable LED die in one package, being 624nm red, 518nm green and 468nm blue, meaning that the full range of colours including warm white can be obtained. Die intensities have been optically matched to provide the best possible performance with a rich gamut of colour combinations being offered from the one device. Heat dissipation issues have been considered by use of a robust copper leadframe having excellent thermal conductivity properties. All quoted optical data is fully verified using the company's in-house Spectral Analyser and all new products are subjected to a rigorous in-house test regime prior to release.
