Crescent - Efficient Fibre Optics (efo)
Crescent EFO is a revolutionary new lighting system offering all the benefits of fibre optic lighting with the added advantage of energy efficiency. Major technological innovations from Crescent's parent company, Fiberstars, in solid core optical fibre and the light collecting systems in the EFO projector give crisp, white light with an efficiency way beyond what has been possible with fibre optics up to now.
In addition Fiberstars have developed the unique FiberJacks° fibre connectors. These connectors plug easily and precisely into the EFO projector, making fibre connection a simple installation task for site contractors. It is also optically more accurate thus increasing further the efficiency of the system.
At the other end of the fibre, the connector has an ingenious bayonet configuration which allows the luminaire to be given one of three beam distributions - 15°, 25°, or 40° by aligning marks on the connector with those on the luminaire and twisting to lock in position.
An eight downlight system will approach 50% efficiency and it's this type of configuration that is causing a stir in the America retail market, replacing MR16 lamps for a no heat, no UV solution that meets all the new building energy requirements.
