Eyeopener - Budapest, Hungary

Wow, what's this riot of colour?
In celebration of our projector feature, we thought we'd show you the Millenaris (Millennium) Park Project in Budapest. The whole park was 'raypainted' to celebrate Hungary's accession in to the European Union.

    Ray who?
Raypainting is the creation of the artistic partnership of Dorkandkozma (Dora Berkes and Peter Kozma). It involves painting intricate patterns on glass slides to be used on large format slide projectors.

    How was this project realised?
More than 20,000 sqm was raypainted using Pani slide projectors ranging from 2KW to 12KW and projecting from five different places. The audience became part of the painting by merely walking around the park.

    What light sources were used?
One specific type of ring is used to provide the lighting for the shared areas, which uses Par and Hi Par 30 lamps. The choice of light sources, especially Hi Par lamps, for the foyer, bar and corridors, sprang from the need for good colour effects combined with energy saving.

Not for the purist but cool as...
    My sentiments exactly.
